Nintendo is calling it a “third platform,” which means it will co-exist with the current DS Lite, and will not replace it.

Not so long from launching the 5800 ExpressMusic, Nokia is at it again with another touchscreen phone but this time a very promising phone that can possibly take a bite out of Apple’s hold on the touchscreen smartphone market. Nikon has gone official with the top-end D3X DSLR. This wallet melting bad boy sports an eye-pleasing 24.5-megapixel CMOS FX format sensor, full resolution shooting at 5 FPS, ISO from 100-1600 (expandable to 50-6400), TIFF, JPEG or NEF (RAW) file formats up to 138MB, and a newly updated EXPEED image processing system.

Nokia today announced the latest addition to its Eseries range, the Nokia E63. With a pre-tax, pre-subsidy price of just €199, Nokia hopes to see the Symbian S60 device generate some mass-market appeal.

The device features a 3.25-inch dual touchscreen displays, 256 x 192 screen resolution, Wifi, internet browser, 2 cameras – one with 3 megapixels resolution, SD slot, internal memory storage and an on-line shop (ala PS store).

This new performer packs a 3.2-inch touchscreen, 13.8-millimeter thin design and an inbuilt camera with Auto Focus, face detection, geotagging and has the same TouchWiz interface as the Samsung Omnia and Samsung F480 Tocco.

Samsung quietly announced the Samsung i8510 INNOV8’s successor – the M8800, dubbed as Pixon aka Brensson. The Samsung M8800 has a 3.2-inch touchscreen offering a 240×400 resolution and has the same TouchWiz interface as the Samsung Omnia and Samsung F480 Tocco.

T-Mobile officially unveils the ultra-hyped G1 at T-Mobile’s Android event in New York City. Its the first ever Android powered smartphone tagged to rival Apple’s iPhone. It will be commercially launched on 22nd October and will hit the UK in November and across Europe in 2009.
