Not so long from launching the 5800 ExpressMusic, Nokia is at it again with another touchscreen phone but this time a very promising phone that can possibly take a bite out of Apple’s hold on the touchscreen smartphone market. The N97 - equipped with S60 5th Edition OS - features a large touchscreen with a kick-out full QWERTY keyboard, hidden behind a 3.5-inch widescreen 16:9 touch display that tilts smartly above the keys. Delivering a whooping 32GB of on-board storage, double that of any mobile device currently in existence, and can take up to another 16GB via a microSD slot, enabling it to become a portable multi-media computer with up to 48GB memory in your pocket – sweet! Along with this comes a promising playback of up to 37 hours of music and 4.5 hours of video for your entertainment pleasure. Also on board is a 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss Tessar lens and dual LED flash, A-GPS, HSDPA, Wi-Fi, USB 2.0, stereo Bluetooth and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The N97 will launch with a retail price set at around €550 ($693) excluding subsidies and taxes, and will start shipping in H1 2009.
