Meet the new T-Mobile G1 with Google Android

T-Mobile officially unveils the ultra-hyped G1 at T-Mobile’s Android event in New York City. Its the first ever Android powered smartphone tagged to rival Apple’s iPhone. Here’s some important bits we gathered so far.
It will be sim-locked to T-Mobile
Priced at $179 with Two data / messaging plans – $25 with unlimited data and some messaging, $35 with unlimited data and messaging.

Immediate sales only available in stores within 5 miles of a 3G covered area. If a store is beyond that range, representatives will walk customers through a T-mobile.com purchase.
It will be commercially launched on 22nd October and will hit the UK in November and across Europe in 2009.
