HTC Touch Diamond – Another Iphone Competition

Eversince the launch of Iphone last year, many has tried to come up with a device as cool as apple’s handset. HTC’s new offering – the Touch Diamond is another attempt to fight Apple’s supremacy in the so called “touch generation” of mobilephone handsets.
As expected, it boasts HTC’s new ‘3D’ UI which the company is calling Touchflo 3D. The motivation behind Touchflo is clear. It’s supposed to enhance web browsing courtesy of the fact that users can pan and zoom using just one hand. Plus there’s motion sensing in that just turning the device will rotate the display around from portrait to landscape mode.
Another feature aimed squarely at increasing its internet credentials is the Touch Diamond’s support for high-speed 3G in the form of HSDPA, a 3.2 megapixels camera and a GPS, which will accomodate the so called next generation location based services for mobile phones – which the iphone is lacking. The Diamond is based on Windows Mobile OS, although HTC has made several changes to its UI.
